Parent & Family Giving — Overview

Parent and Family Giving

Your student is on an amazing adventure. During their time at U-M, students discover their true voice, develop their own ideas, and blaze new trails into the future. They collaborate with world-class faculty and form lifetime friendships with other students from around the world. They encounter new perspectives and transformative experiences in extraordinary learning environments, on and off campus. They become the leaders of tomorrow.

As a public institution, U-M has a responsibility to use our academic strength and powerful resources to make the world a better place. Our deeply established tradition of philanthropy helps us meet that responsibility and supports our efforts to provide access and opportunities for all promising students.

Our Parent & Family Giving program offers an opportunity for Michigan parents to show pride in their student and enhance the overall student experience by supporting any program across campus. Gifts can be designated for a specific college, academic department, athletic team, club, or other activity officially recognized by Student Life. You can also support the other rewarding elements of student life around campus such as the University Libraries, the University Musical Society, and the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum. All gifts count toward the university’s Victors for Michigan campaign.

If you have any questions regarding our program, the Parent & Family Leadership Council, please contact Matt Burrows, senior director of Parent & Family Giving, at burrowsm@umich.edu or 734.647.1940.
